T Locke Recording

Professional production for the starving artist

What makes my recording studio unique?

Me. I'm a straight-shooter. I tell you the prices up front. I work very hard. Like the terminator, I don't stop until any issue is destroyed. At the same time, I'm one of the most understanding and laid back people you will meet. I love meeting new people and tackling new challenges.

I'm not your average studio nerd sitting in air-conditioning. I spent my youth on a farm for 25 years. I did tree work for 15 years, as well as several other blue collar jobs. I understand hard work. I understand struggle. I don't mess around when it comes to your money and the effort you put into your music. The same care you put into it, I'll match it.

The reason why I choose to invest my time into music is because, since a kid, I can see the power behind it. Music can help you vent. Music can change someone else's mood making them go from happy, to sad, to a hundred others. Music can make you remember things, like a specific smell or taste or a photo you forgot about. And music can also become a part of a movement so large that it changes the world.

 Recording

Help me help you! I will draw from a collection of microphones and boutique preamps/DIs to capture your sound, as well as use top-of-the-line ADDA converters. I encourage you to bring your own instruments, amplifiers, and pedals to get your sound as accurate as possible.

$20 per hour (rounded to the nearest quarter hour)

$20 deposit is required to confirm a date/time
For cancellation refund you must cancel at least 24 hours before the session

Tell me any ideas for your project as well as songs or genres that you may want to sound similar to.

At the end of each recording session (and after payment is made) I will email the freshly recorded song or tracks to you.

 Mixing

I will mix your music using many various audio techniques, state-of-the-art plugins, and boutique outboard gear!

$20 per vocalist
$20 per instrument (a drumset = 1 instrument)
$20 per backing song/beat track (pertains mostly to solo artists)

If song length exceeds 6 minutes it is $20 per minute over

I will recall a mix for free up to 9 times to make edits and adjustments, after that it is $20 per mix recall

If you did not record your song with me, please email your stems without effects (unless you specifically want the effect to remain) and as WAV files zipped into a compressed folder. You can send MP3 files but you should know that the quality of your finished song will be diminished.

I encourage you to tell me a few songs that you may want your mix to sound similar to.

For simplicity, I email early mixes as MP3 files, and when I know you are satisfied, I email the final mix as WAV. If you need a different file type let me know. Listen to the mix using a trusted source like your favorite headphones or a decent car stereo. If you hear something that you want changed simply contact me.

 Mastering

I will use my trained ears to hone your music into a radio-ready master that will sound at home on any streaming service 👍

$20 per song

Please let me know the names of your songs and project, as well as any of your favorite songs that you may want to "match."

Email your music as WAV files zipped into a compressed folder whenever possible. If multiple songs are a part of the same project then let me know their order so that I can master them together to sound more uniform.

After receiving payment I will send master WAV files to you via email.

 Live Sound

Let me mix your local concert or event! I will use my all-analog equipment to focus on the moment in front of me and connect the audience to the stage. My goal is to offer better sound for bands at house shows or venues that don't have [good] live sound equipment. Bad sound does a disservice to all of the hard work that bands put in: from creating a song, all of the practice, lugging equipment, selling tickets, and setting up the show itself. The bands deserve to sound awesome and increase the potential to make new fans!

$20 per hour
+$1 per mile from Wappingers Falls, NY
$100 minimum

Setup and breakdown time is no cost to you, only the actual event hours.

I do not currently own wireless mics but I am game for buying them if your event requires it.

I do not own in-ear monitors or lighting/fog machines. If required, I suggest supplying your own or renting them from a rental company.

If you do not need my equipment and only need me as a live sound engineer, that is okay too! I will be happy to use whatever you or the venue supplies. I cannot offer a discount for this; although it is less for me to pack and unload, this is replaced by me having to learn (and possibly re-wire or troubleshoot) a different mixing setup.
